Over 60 years ago, a young enterprising Queenslander, recognising a need in the building industry, set up shop in his backyard. Les Palmer began his makeshift steel fabricating business producing one-off handrails and columns for local builders. Through word of mouth his small business quickly grew, and before long his customer’s demands forced his expansion.With a clear understanding of the building industry’s needs and a commitment to world-class standards Mr. Palmer’s business thrived. And so in 1955 – Palmer Steel Industries was born.
