Info
WLQR (1470 kHz) was a commercial AM radio station that is now defunct. WLQR was owned by Cumulus Media and was licensed to Toledo, Ohio. WLQR aired a talk format. It was the Toledo affiliate for the Detroit Lions, Detroit Pistons, Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers and the Ohio State IMG Sports Network. The station also broadcast high-school football games. Most of WLQR's talk programs were nationally syndicated from Cumulus Media subsidiary Westwood One, including Don Imus, Jonathan Brandmeier, Dave Ramsey, Mark Levin, John Batchelor, Chris Plante, Michael Savage and Red Eye Radio. Most hours began with national news from the Westwood One News network.
On September 24, 2016, programming on the then-WTOD switched from AM 1470 to FM translator W264AK at 100.7 MHz. The AM radio towers, off Pickle Road in Oregon, Ohio, needed expensive repairs and station management decided to end broadcasts on the AM station while continuing its programming on the FM translator. All employees were kept on the payroll on the FM outlet. The station is now known as "Talk Radio 100.7."
