A vasectomy in Singapore at our clinic takes place in three stages: a consultation, the procedure itself and a follow-up semen test. He makes sure you understand that the procedure is intended to be permanent, and answers your questions before you give consent.

The no-scalpel vasectomy is done as a day procedure under local anaesthesia. A specialised instrument makes a tiny puncture in the scrotal skin, and each vas deferens is brought to the surface, divided and sealed. A small dressing may be applied. Patients usually go home shortly afterwards, with advice on scrotal support, ice packs and when to resume exercise.

Sperm remain in the reproductive tract for some time afterwards, so you will need another form of contraception until a semen analysis confirms that no sperm are present.
