The main public access is the Avon bathhouse access off Ocean View Drive — parking, restrooms and outdoor showers. ORV Ramp 38 sits just south of the village and Ramp 34 to the north; both require a Cape Hatteras National Seashore permit to drive on the sand, year-round, no off-season exemption.
