Flat roofs have a terrible reputation and most of it was earned in the 1970s. A flat roof laid properly today - on a sound deck, to a real fall, with the edges detailed for a coast that gets a south-westerly straight off the Bristol Channel - will outlast the kitchen underneath it. That is the whole of our trade. Not a bit of flat roofing alongside pitched work, tiling, guttering and a van full of everything else. Just this, 1,000+ times over.
