We’re here to make kayaking and paddleboarding the hobby you can’t stop talking about. If you pull back onto the dock thinking, “That was amazing—when can we go again?” or start planning a weekend paddle at your local lake, we’ve succeeded. We want the Scalawag experience to become part of your lifestyle, not just a one-off vacation thrill.

Lesson-First Rental Model

Before you push off, we run through a quick, confidence-boosting lesson—stance, stroke, turns, and safety.



Never paddled? Perfect. Even seasoned guests pick up pro tips that make the ride smoother and more fun.



Skill Building Made Simple

We noticed that many self-taught paddlers struggled with easy-to-fix habits: paddling backward, wobbling on the board, poor turning technique. One short lesson corrects those issues and transforms the whole experience—so now everyone gets coached.
