Bencoolen MRT station (DT21) is an underground Mass Rapid Transit station on the Downtown Line located at the boundary of Rochor and Museum planning areas, Singapore. Located under Bencoolen Street, the station serves primarily the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, which is directly next to and above the station. It is located in between 2 campuses of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. The station is connected indirectly to Bras Basah MRT station on the Circle Line via Exit C and walking through Singapore Art Museum, where the shops are primarily located.The station also has little food corners tucked within walking distance. Crossings Cafe at the Catholic Centre is a social enterprise which offers casual, affordable bistro fare while Le Bistrot de l'Olive at the V Hotel offers halal Mediterranean and Middle Eastern fare.At 43 metres below street level, it is also the deepest MRT station in Singapore, surpassing Promenade MRT station at 42 metres. It takes five escalator rides to get out of this station from basement 6 to basement 1.
