Info

Letterform Archive is a museum and special collections library in San Francisco, California, dedicated to collecting materials on the history of lettering, typography, printing, and graphic design.
Established from the private collection of founder Rob Saunders, the museum opened in 2015. It holds particularly large collections from the Dutch publisher Jan Tholenaar and the archive of Emigre Graphics, as well as a collection of the work of William Addison Dwiggins. It announced the publication of a full-length biography of Dwiggins in 2017.
The Archive has an education program in collaboration with Cooper Union which includes a full-year certificate program in typeface design, workshops on lettering and typography, and a lecture series.
