Info

Uthong Road (Thai: ถนนอู่ทอง) is an one road in Bangkok's Dusit sub-district, Dusit district considered a road in the area of Dusit Palace. It's a short road in the style of boulevard but runs through many important places of Thailand. It was originally named "Bai Bhorn Road" (ถนนใบพร) after the type of Chinese porcelain with leaf motifs, one of their most popular collections in the reign of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V). Later the King Vajiravudh (Rama VI) gave new name "Uthong Road" like today. The name honours one of members of the Siamese royal family Princess Nibha Nobhadol, Princess of Uthong, who is one of King Chulalongkorn's daughters .
