At Lolo’s Seafood Shack, you can enjoy a taste of the coast—or the islands—without ever having to leave New York City!In the Caribbean islands, a “lolo” refers to a traditional restaurant where you can taste local dishes, seasonings, and flavors. In 2014, entrepreneur and hospitality guru Leticia Young partnered with executive chef Raymond Mohan to create Lolo’s Seafood Shack. The goal wasto introduce New Yorkers to the flavors of the Caribbean and provide a new twist on coastal seafood favorites.
Young has more than a decade of experience in the hospitality industry and trained at the French Culinary Institute.Chef Mohan grew up in the South American country of Guyana and used to visit the local street market every day with his mother.
