Sharsheret, Hebrew for "chain," is an American not-for-profit organization intended to support young Jewish women with breast cancer, or a genetic predisposition to it, and their families. Due to a higher prevalence of a BRCA mutation, Ashkenazi Jews have a higher risk of developing breast cancer. Sharsheret provides webinars and other public meetings to educate women on the benefits of genetic testing.
