Varendra University (VU) is a coeducational private university in Rajshahi, Bangladesh. It obtained approval from the Ministry of Education on March 14, 2012 and from the University Grants Commission (UGC) on March 20, 2012, under the Private University Act of 1992 and was the first UGC approved private university in Rajshahi. One of its founders is Liakat Sikdar, former President of Bangladesh Chhatra League.
