Tomas Bata University in Zlín (TBU), (Czech Univerzita Tomáše Bati ve Zlíně), is a university comprising six faculties offering courses in technology, economics, humanities, arts and health care. The University is named after the entrepreneur Tomas Bata (1876–1932) who was also the originator of the shoe industry in Zlín. With a current student population of more than 10,300, TBU ranks among medium-sized Czech universities.
