Ventas is a historic ward (barrio) of Madrid belonging to the district of Ciudad Lineal.The most important building of the neighbourhood is the Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas, where bull fighting still takes place, as well as other events such as music concerts.
The name Ventas, comes from the Spanish word vender (to sell), historically, people used to gather in the square to trade and sell their goods.
The neighbourhood is connected by local buses and the Metro (Ventas) on lines 2 and 5.
