Sir Salimullah Medical College (SSMC) (Bengali: স্যার সলিমুল্লাহ মেডিকেল কলেজ) is a medical college in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Founded in 1875 as Dhaka Medical School, it was renamed in 1962 in honor of Nawab Bahadur Sir Khwaja Salimullah, a former Nawab of Dhaka, politician, and patron of education. The school includes Mitford Hospital, which was the most important medical institution, not only in Dhaka, but in the whole of Eastern Bengal and Assam in British India .
