Janakpuri is a posh residential neighbourhood in the West Delhi district of National Capital Territory of Delhi. It is located near the Delhi Cantonment area and is easily accessible by road and Delhi Metro.
A Delhi suburb that developed significantly in the 1980s, it is packed with apartment complexes functioning as group housing societies, built both privately as well as by the Delhi Development Authority. A large chunk of the population comprises Punjabis, mostly migrants to Delhi following the partition in 1947.
