Info

The École Jeannine Manuel (formerly called Ecole Active Bilingue Jeannine Manuel and referred to as EABJM) is an elite private day school in Paris, France, founded in 1954 by Jeannine Manuel. EABJM is known for its rigorous bilingual (French and English) curriculum. Classes in both English and French provide students of diverse nationalities the opportunity to reach a high level of proficiency in both languages. The school also offers instruction in many additional foreign languages, including Chinese, which is offered to students ages 8+, Spanish, German, Italian and Latin. The school is one of the few in France to offer the International Baccalaureate alongside the Option Internationale du Baccalauréat and the French Baccalauréat. An associated UNESCO school, EABJM is also contractually part of the French national education system. According to the International Baccalaureate ranking, it is the top IB school in France according to IB exam results of May 2004 and onwards.
The main campus consists of several buildings in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, the most important being 70 and 65 rue du Théâtre and 115 avenue Émile Zola. The preschool is located nearby at the Suffren and Dupleix campuses, also in the 15th.
Notable alumni include politician Jean-François Copé, actor Gaspard Ulliel and singer and actress Charlotte Gainsbourg.
Notable parents include former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, the Schlumberger family, DJ and producer David Guetta, actors Christian Clavier, Alain Delon, actress Sophia Loren, singers Serge Gainsbourg, Jane Birkin and Patricia Kaas, television producer and host Thierry Ardisson, CEO of TF1 Nonce Paolini, businessmen Arnaud Lagardère, Denis Kessler, and ex-first lady of France Carla Bruni.
Notable faculty include French Minister of Culture and Communication, Frédéric Mitterrand.
The admissions process is highly rigorous and includes previous academic records, references, and interviews. Jeannine Manuel Scholarships are available for students unable to meet the financial requirements.
EABJM graduates matriculate to a very high academic standard, with a 100% pass rate for the French Baccalauréat in most years. Many go on to pursue higher education in the United States, United Kingdom, France and many other countries in the world. In recent years many students have been admitted to prestigious universities in France, America, Canada, the UK and other European countries.
