Molinella is a comune (municipality) part of Metropolitan City of Bologna in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 30 kilometres (19 mi) northeast of Bologna. As of 31 August 2008, it had a population of 15,542 and an area of 128.1 square kilometres (49.5 sq mi).
The municipality of Molinella contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Marmorta, San Martino in Argine, San Pietro Capofiume, and Selva Malvezzi.
