Bomporto is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Modena in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 35 kilometres (22 mi) northwest of Bologna and about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) northeast of Modena. As of 31 December 2010, it had a population of 9,748 and an area of 39.1 square kilometres (15.1 sq mi).
The municipality of Bomporto contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Gorghetto, San Michele, Solara, Sorbara, and Villavara.
Bomporto borders the following municipalities: Bastiglia, Camposanto, Medolla, Modena, Nonantola, Ravarino, San Prospero, Soliera.
