Had a conversation in another thread about underrated mobile games and someone mentioned the UK Crossy Road mobile game, so I gave it a download. That was three weeks ago and I've played it almost every day since. The core loop is brilliantly designed — it's the kind of game where you always feel like you could do just a little bit better if you tried one more time. The traffic patterns are randomised enough to keep things unpredictable, but there are underlying rhythms you can learn if you pay attention. The sheer number of playable characters is impressive too, ranging from the classic chicken to all sorts of themed and seasonal unlockables. Each one has slightly different animations that give them personality. My current record is somewhere around 280 hops. Not bad, but I know I can push further. If you haven't tried it yet, it's a free download and well worth the few seconds it takes to install.
