He trained at leading hospitals in Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Cambridge and Lithuania before moving to Newcastle NSW in 1996. Dr Spittaler is the first fully private Neurosurgeon in the Hunter region. He operates at Lingard Private Hospital, Newcastle Private Hospital and consults with his patients in Hamilton.
