North Sydney railway station is a Sydney Trains station which lies on the North Shore railway line, 5.1 km from Central railway station, Sydney, Australia. It serves the major employment centre of North Sydney and is the fifth busiest railway station in NSW.The station was created as part of the construction project for the Sydney Harbour Bridge and opened to traffic on 19 March 1932 at the same time that the bridge was opened. Rail services through North Sydney have been electrified since their inception and currently form part of the North Shore, Northern & Western Line.
North Sydney is the 5th most patronised railway station in Sydney (out of a total of 176 stations), with an average of 28,780 passengers boarding per day.
