Leicester railway station (formerly Leicester London Road) serves the city of Leicester in Leicestershire, England.
It was originally opened in 1840 by the Midland Counties Railway, and rebuilt in 1894 and 1978. Today it is operated by East Midlands Trains. It is on the Midland Main Line, which runs from London St Pancras to Sheffield and Nottingham. It is 99 miles 7 chains (159.5 km) north of London St Pancras.
