Athens Bus Station "Kifissos", also known as Peloponnese Bus Station, is the busiest bus station in Athens. It is located in Peristeri towards in Kifissou Avenue or European route E75. There are a lot of routes to Peloponnese, Epirus, Macedonia and Ionian Islands. For Thessaly and Central Greece there are routes from the second Bus Station in Patisia known as "Liosion Bus Station". There are a lot passengers that they use the Bus Station. In 2008, 75 million passengers used the bus station. In 2016 the passenger vollume was in 92 million. Due to the new highways such as Olympia Odos, Ionia Odos the routes have increased 30% since 2009. There are plans to open a new bus station in Aigaleo, Attica which will be serve all routes in Greece. The new bus station, known as Elaionas, is scheduled to open in 2025.
