Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) is a public school district based in Traverse City, Michigan, United States. This district includes 12 elementary schools, two middle schools, three high schools, one international school, and one Montessori school. The district is headquartered in the Boardman Building. In 2017, Traverse City Central and West High Schools were named among the most challenging in the country.The district serves 10,000 students over an area of 285 square miles (738 km2). This makes it the largest district in northwestern Michigan.
