Info

The Andersonian Library is the university library of the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. Established in 1796, it is one of the largest of its type in Scotland.
Access to the Library is restricted to Strathclyde student or library membership card holders only. Visitors to the library must scan their student/library card at the secure entrance gates in order to gain access. University of Strathclyde students and staff make up the majority of the library's membership, however membership is also available to other types of user including alumni of several Scottish universities, retired staff and corporate members. A limited number of temporary passes per year can be obtained by those who have forgotten to bring their student/library card with them to the Library.
On 29 April 2010 The library was victim to a bomb scare. The surrounding roads and the library itself were evacuated. Strathclyde Police were called to the scene along with bomb-sniffing dogs. The library was cleared safe shortly after 2 pm and staff were allowed access and students were allowed to re-enter around 3 pm.
