The Abel Cedeño killing incident took place at the Urban Assembly School for Wildlife Conservation in The Bronx, New York, on September 27, 2017, when high school student Abel Cedeño, 18, stabbed and killed student Matthew McCree, and was also accused of seriously injuring Mr. McCree’s friend, Ariane Laboy, 16, who tried to step in. Cedeño was charged with murder. The reason for the assault was said to be because of homophobic comments and actions made against Cedeño.
