Alexander Hamilton Preparatory Academy (abbreviated as AHPA) is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in Elizabeth, in Union County, New Jersey, operating as part of Elizabeth Public Schools. The academy accepts students in ninth through twelfth grades in Elizabeth who have passed the requirements for enrollment. The academy is operated by the Elizabeth Board of Education. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Secondary Schools since 2013. The curriculum prepares its students for four-year colleges and Ivy League schools.
As of the 2015-16 school year, the school had an enrollment of 989 students and 72.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.7:1. There were 726 students (73.4% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 108 (10.9% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.
