The Government Engineering College, Kozhikode (GECK) was started by the government of Kerala, India, in August 1999. It is an engineering institution under the Department of Technical Education, Kerala. GECK has been rated consistently among the top technical institutes in kerala, with students admitted purely on the basis of merit. .GECK graduates are employed in public and private sector companies within India and abroad. Many of the alumni occupy top managerial and key technical position in corporates across the globe.
The institution is located in WestHill. The institute has five major engineering departments: Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,Electronics and Communication Engineering and Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering.
